Government Funding and Your Arts Organization
Tuesday, December 5, 2023 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
While elected officials are the public face, there are many staffers and attorneys who work on funding and policies that directly impact the arts. During Museum Hue’s last Advocacy workshop session, Government Funding and Your Organization, hear from longtime staffers of the Cultural Affairs Committees who work on committee meetings, budget requests, and draft legislation on how their work helps and impacts your organization.
About Advocacy Accelerator: A Workshop Series that Champions Change
Museum Hue’s Advocacy Accelerator is a three-part virtual workshop series envisioned and developed by Museum Hue’s research and recommendations from HueArts NYC and HueArts NYS. Responding to the needs of our HueArts entities, this series demystifies the lobbying process and provides actionable steps and resources to uplift Black, Indigenous, Asian, Latinx, and all People of Color-led organizations looking to learn how to champion their organization through funding and advocacy. Elected officials, government staffers, and attorneys will discuss the government’s critical role in supporting the arts and illuminate the process of government outreach, funding application, and collective.
