DESCRIPTION:While elected officials are the public face\, there are many staffers and attorneys who work on funding and policies that directly impact the arts. During Museum Hue’s last Advocacy workshop session\, Government Funding and Your Organization\, hear from longtime staffers of the Cultural Affairs Committees who work on committee meetings\, budget requests\, and draft legislation on how their work helps and impacts your organization. \nAbout Advocacy Accelerator: A Workshop Series that Champions Change \nMuseum Hue’s Advocacy Accelerator is a three-part virtual workshop series envisioned and developed by Museum Hue’s research and recommendations from HueArts NYC and HueArts NYS. Responding to the needs of our HueArts entities\, this series demystifies the lobbying process and provides actionable steps and resources to uplift Black\, Indigenous\, Asian\, Latinx\, and all People of Color-led organizations looking to learn how to champion their organization through funding and advocacy. Elected officials\,  government staffers\, and attorneys will discuss the government’s critical role in supporting the arts and illuminate the process of government outreach\, funding application\, and collective.

You will hear from experts on how to reach out to fellow arts professionals\, what types of conferences and events to attend\, and how to maintain relationships. Museum Hue will facilitate this session. This session is free and open to the public. Click on the Zoom Website Registration link to sign up! \nABOUT THE HUENIVERSITY CAREER JUMPSTART \nMuseum Hue’s Hueniversity Career Jumpstart is a program of virtual workshops that uplift emerging Black\, Indigenous\, Asian\, Latinx\, and all People of Color in the arts and culture field. This series is part of the next phase of HueArts NYC and NYS\, responding to the need for increased professional development opportunities for current and future arts workers. The series of workshops consist of conversations and presentations led by experts in the field who will provide insight into their career path\, offering tools centering how to build a network\, resume and cover letter writing\, internship preparation\, and more. Recordings\, a best practices resource guide\, and informative tool-kits from each session will be available on our website. The series will culminate with an in-person networking event for participants to interact with fellow emerging arts professionals and have the opportunity to build relationships with experts in the industry. This program provides actionable next steps to support emerging arts professionals seeking guidance on how to navigate the arts and culture space. Museum Hue is committed to creating resources and programming that speak to our growing arts community.
